I have only access to household chemicals (Acetic Acid, Hydrochloric Acid, Potassiumpermanganate,Acetone.....e.t.c.).
I have not search the "Chemical Literature"

well easieest might not mean very profecient however I am also interested in the easiest way...as percursers are cheap....seemingly a mixture of ammonia and vinegar should work...however I am not profecient to do such xtylazations at this time......

I have however viewed sever seemingly siple processes seems that the mst of the historical considerations have been reminessed to or skipped of course a historical synth ussing historical precursers is etirellly different that pressent lab gardes stufff.......

The ammonia and the acedic they form I think an henderson haselbroch type compound in such quest this might be likewise a bit of natural tartaric acid in vinegar although that depends upon source....cellulases are exhaustively remived for there pharmecutical worth.......so anyways if ya cool the acedic acid down it out to freeze out first hand from the solution and if ammonia is in there maybe ya can make a product from the two I aint shure but this be a good as place as any to start experimenting.....the old times also had valuble little and common secrets that have been lost to the time of the passing ........

acedic glacial acedic and ammonia maybe ya dont need ammonia I thinking a bit different type product anyways proally take the glacial product and expose this to co or dry ice or simmiliar process maybe alow it to cook off some more water and desicate why ask??? read a book......

Thanks
Have You literature references.
I have look at "Rohdiums Page" but I found the same recipe in Mann & Saunders "Practical Organic Chemistry" Fourth Edition
(Longman, London and New York(1981))
Are there any recipe without "Acetyl Chloride".

In Vogel's there is a description of a ketene generator. Pyrolysis of acetone vapours on glowing nichrome wires. This baby, when run continously, will supply you with all the acetic anhydride you'll ever need.

CH3COCH3 --------> CH4 + CH2CO
CH2CO + CH3COOH ------> acetic anhydride

If you've got a lot of money and want a professional ketene generator setup, Ace Glass sells the standby Williamson & Hurd generator. Around $2K.

Alchemy: Listen to Osmium. It's the best method. And with a little time and patience you can build a ketene generator for less than $2000
